2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Wagon

Subaru of America introduced a new four-door version of the model Subaru Impreza WRX STI performance flagship. This is the first time the Subaru Impreza WRX STI has been offered in two body styles (5 doors and 4 doors). Besides the new design, the 2011 WRX STI features revised suspension tuning and lighter to handle 18 inches higher.

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI has benefited from continuous improvement since its introduction. New Designs for 2011

In front, the 2011 WRX STI models have sharp corners of the bumpers and in general, blacked-out fog lamp nacelles to accentuate the "wide and low" profile. A wing that excels in three dimensional detail underlines the intention of sports cars. The redesigned front grille and black background lights out Subaru wing highlights the shape of the headlights to give the whole front a more powerful, more pronounced grille and bumper for exhaust and intake.

For 4-door models, newly designed wider rear fenders have been extended beyond the side of the rear lights, emphasizing an aspect of power and stability. Design details contribute to an improved drag coefficient.

Setting the new chassis for 2011

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI was already a highly optimized performance machine. Tuning a specific chassis. Aluminum front panel lower L-arms reduce unsprung weight of the vehicle. Both the front and rear suspension systems employ higher rate springs and thick bars front and rear stabilizer than the 2010 model: 21 mm vs. 20 mm front and 19 mm vs. 18 mm in the rear. Spring rates have increased by 15.6 percent compared to 53 percent and in the rear.

New standard 18-inch aluminum wheels feature high-gloss paint and weighs 17.6 pounds. less than the previous standard wheels. The optional 18 x 8.5-in. BBS ® forged aluminum alloy, which further reduce unsprung weight of the vehicle, characterized by high gloss silver paint in 2011.

Unique to the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the performance Brembo brake system uses ventilated 4-wheel Super Sport anti-lock (ABS) disc brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). Super Sport ABS can control the braking forces at each rear wheel independently, optimizing braking ability in hard cornering to help reduce understeer.

The 2011 Subaru WRX STI is still the best performance with its high-boost of 305 hp turbocharged / intercooled 4-cylinder. Boxer and 6-speed manual transmission.
